Truck Pass

Truck Festival was amazing! All the photos should be done and sorted soon. Here's the (back of the) pass I had for the festival:

21st

The 21st of July is/was:
- One of my best friends' birthday (Happy Birthday again Su!)
- Her sister's graduation (Congratulations Suz!)
- The day I met up with run, WALK! and did some photos for them


I'm really glad the weather was good that day! Clear blue skies albeit a little hot. Above is a photo taken of Tom and Matt after the shoot. I also met their friend, and fellow photography enthusiast, Sam who kindly lent me his flash sync cable for the shoot. Without it, I probably wouldn't have gotten the last couple of shots (Thank you!). They're a bunch of great guys.

I'm still sorting through the photos, but it should be done by next week sometime. I'll be going to Truck (as I already posted!) so I'll be away from the computer till Monday.

My Fortune Cookie

I just came back from dinner with Su, her sister and her aunt. We had a nice relaxing meal at Bayswater and were given some fortune cookies after our meal. My fortune was very appropriate as I'd not seen Su in about a year!

Also, this morning I went out with Bailey and Sana just texted me about when we can meet soon - the last time I saw either of them was about a few months ago.

スーと妹さんとおばさんと夕食から帰ってきたばかり。私たち、リラックスなミールをベイスウォターでして、後でフォーチュン・クッキーをもらった。私のフォーチュンがとっても適切だった。一年くらいスーに会わなかったから。

それに、今朝ベイリーと遊んで、サナからいつ会えることについてのメッセジーを送ってくれたばかり。二人にも最後に会ったのは２、３ヶ月ぐらい前。

Kappa

I'm a real n00b when it comes to Japanese food. The other day, Den taught me the origin of the name for cucumber rolls ('Kappa Maki') by drawing this picture for me. A Kappa is a sort of green water imp found in Japanese folklore. They're usually seen as troublemakers and they love eating cucumbers, which is probably how the 'Kappa Maki came to be named!


日本の料理って分からないことが多い。先日、デンさんが書いてくれた絵で、「かっぱ巻き」の由来を教えてくれた。カッパは緑の水の小鬼で、日本の民話で見られる。トラブルメーカーを普通に見なされて、きゅうりが大好きなので、なぜかきゅうり巻きが「かっぱ巻き」というか説明できるでしょう。

In order to practice my Japanese, I was thinking of translating my posts. Though, if I make any mistakes would you please let me know? I still find speaking a lot harder than writing, but maybe the more I write, the faster I'll be able to think in Japanese...? Anyway for now, thank you!

Chickens in the Kitchen

My friend's kitchen has awesome wallpaper. CHICKENS! It was so cute, I had to take a picture of it. Apparently, when he and his flatmates moved in, there was also a big chicken statue on top of their fridge. Unfortunately, they threw it away.
